Kerri's SR Pictures

Well hellllllllloooooo there!

I see my goal of once a month went null and void. I'm sorry. Promosies should never have that life span. I'm here now though, does that count for anything? I sure hope so. It's a full-fill-ment, just a few months late. Oh well.

So a few weeks ago I had the sheer pleasure of photographing my friend Kerri. She is one of my girls from youth group. She is wonderful and so full of life, and when she told me she was nervous, my reply, "So am I." (: But that happens with every shoot. I get nervous, convince myself that I shouldn't be the one photographing my client. And I constantly ask myself, "What are they thinking." And then I meet up with them, a just moments into the shoot and interacting I realize. This is why. B/c it's fun, it sweet, it's fresh. It's full of light, laughs and beautiful images. Looking through the photos of Kerri I took, I was in awe. They took my breath away. What a gift. The chance to capture this moment in time. I am so grateful the constant opportunity I'm given. And every time I pray I don't jack it up. B/c after all like I said my first thought is always, "What the heck are they thinking?" With out further ado... here are some of the photos of our shoot.

Colby is 5!

So just recently I had the opportunity to photograph the cutest little boy EVER. Granted I may be a little biased because I've been photographing him for years OR maybe it's because he's my nephew and pretty much my favorite little boy on the planet!! I LOVE this boy.

I seriously I can't believe that he is 5 years old already! Isn't he adorable?

He needed to have his jacket on because he was "shivering, that's why I can't hold still." (:

Then he got 'baseball ready' for a few photos.

So I'm going to try this blog thing again. I know it seems that I can only blog once a year. So this time's goal: Blog more then once... maybe three times. Or maybe, just maybe a blog entry once a month?? Ha. Well I'll try. I have plenty of pictures to blog about... just no laptop to sit and watch TV while blogging with. So I just need to use better self-control. For the one person that reads this, Weirdie, I vow to attempt to update this blog at least once a month. I've got 2010 SR Banquet photos, SR pictures, baby pictures, T-ball pictures, 5 Year old pictures, & 8 year old photos..... Plenty to blog about. Therefore blog I will.

Now I know that blogs are always better with pictures... but I'm not on my own computer so I don't have any pictures. I'm sorry.

It's been a while

Well it's been a while. I'm sorry. Turns out I'm not very good at this blogging. Which, eh not everybody is great at everything.

But I just wanted to say, Yes I do still know the password and my log in ID to this site. HA. :)

Pictures soon! I promise. I just did some SR pictures today, and family shots at the SR banquet last week, and a wedding next weekend. So I've got some material to work with. Yay!

And b/c posts are so much more fun with pictures. Here's one with me and some of the girls at the SR banquet. :) Arn't we fun?

Training

So I don't have any pictures today, but I woke up this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so I got up and decided to poke around on the computer for a spell. And it's been a while since I've put up a new post so. Anyway, yesterday I got home from an overnight training for the Ignite team. (Which is basically a core of kids in our youth group that is joined together by being leaders, sort of and have a heart for just searching out the Lord.) Anyway, I'm a leader and help out with it. But it was basically just a foundations training, Oh and plus fun time with everyone. Which was nice to get a refresher course on certain bible verses. But we watched a you tube video about Kim Walker she a musician and she sings this song, OH How He Loves Us. And it's just so incredible.... but it's so true how he loves us. But the lyrics just hit me every time and I just wanted to share them with you.

Summer Family Fun

Earlier this year, well May to be exact... I know, I know way to procrastinate right? Anyway, back to the point... in May of this year I took my assistant youth pastor, Jeremiah's family pictures. I has the opportunity a few years ago to take pictures of their baby Samuel when he was just a few months old and now was given the opportunity to capture their whole family's pictures. I was a little nervous b/c aside from when mommy and daddy are playing with him Samuel is a very serious child, like intimidatingly serious. SO I was nervous.... turns out I just happen to have the great niche of making even the most serious people smile. I'm not sure what is. I mean it's not like I walk around trying to be funny but I guess I had something on my face or something. Anyway to the pictures:

We started with the family... turns out Myalynn's as serious as her big brother.

This is my favorite shot of the day. Not only is it just plain adorable but it's an excellent example of our father's love for us. He's arms are wide open... constantly waiting for us to throw our arms open and run into his wonderful love!

Can anyone tell Father's day was coming up? ;)

Every once in a while when you are shooting by water a random boater or 5 will starting coming down the creak to distract your subjects. This is not always so bad, example... see below:

Ariana's Sr Pictures

So a couple of months I got together with a very close family friend and shoot her Senior Pictures. I can't believe Ariana is a SR... it's crazy! I swear just yesterday she was in 3rd sleeping over at my house... just because she could. Anyway, we went out for about 2 hours and just had a great time around Boiling Springs. She is absolutely gorgeous so I had no problems getting a few great shots. Here are a few of my favs:

Then we headed out the lake... a more traditional location for photographs. Can you guess why?

*sigh* So BEAUTIFUL!

Then we went back to the not so traditional... b/c that's "how we do" and went down by the Yellow Breaches. Where she runs for cross country. Which is just as pretty as all of other locations. Of course... good ol' Bowling Springs is just beautiful everywhere!

LOVE IT!!

Then we stopped by my grandma's house to play out in her fields... and ended up playing with the tractor I was never allowed to play with growing up instead. :) Shhh don't tell grandma!!

Alright, alright... back to business...
